Digital Inclusion
Nilesh is a public interest technologist and strong advocate for making a positive social impact in the community through technology. He has developed and deployed multiple free digital literacy programs to eliminate digital exclusion in Australia and has been a keynote speaker at a number of technology exhibitions, including digital access and inclusion conference West Tech Assemblage – which he founded!
Diversity
Nilesh is passionate about creating diverse workplaces and under his leadership illuminance Solutions has won multiple awards. These include the 2021 Western Australia Multicultural Business Award, 2019 Business Migrant of the Year Award and the 2019 Microsoft Partner for Social Impact Award. Nilesh has also been highlighted in the media for his diversity-focused hiring policies, which has supported mothers, Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander communities, people with disabilities, migrants, and refugees to employment. He speaks from the heart about the value of creating inclusive environments both in the office and out in the community.
Karmic Management
There are several ways to lead a company, but Nilesh is a strong advocate for one. His personal leadership style – karmic management – is a key foundation to his community engagement success and has been vital to building a dedicated team of employees and a positive, values–driven company culture.
Supporting International Students
Nilesh is a former international student who studied and graduated in London and Perth. With a first-hand understanding of mental health challenges, homesickness, language barriers and job seeking difficulties, Nilesh presents to international students and migrants and links them to the resources and guidance they need to thrive. When he is not sharing his experiences at Perth university campuses, Nilesh can be found mentoring people through the government-supported Kaleidoscope Initiative and linking migrants with job opportunities.
Terminal 4
Terminal 4 – An Entrepreneur’s Journey from Bicycle to Business Class is Nilesh’s new book that shares his journey traveling the world and collecting degrees. Heartwarming and informative, the book is being quickly snapped up by people and institutions interested in understanding the migrant experience and having an enjoyable read. Nilesh explains his move into authorship and answers questions readers have about the book.
